Urban Plus Weedsprayers was established in February 1984 as a small business applying agrichemicals from a two wheel drive utility vehicle.
Since 1984 we’ve grown and today we operate several application rigs including four 4WD vehicles. We specialise in the accurate and safe application of agrichemicals to a broad spectrum of pest species in Agricultural, Department of Conservation, Domestic, Forestry, Horticultural, Industrial, Local Body, MPI and NZTA situations.
With changing attitudes and where higher environmental risk exists, we have introduced and implemented alternative, innovative control methods and our operation is considered safe, efficient and cost effective.
During our history we’ve made considerable investment in our plant, depot and storage facilities and we operate some of the most advanced equipment available to the industry. Our knowledge and proficiency has been enhanced through the process of gaining a National Certificate in Agrichemical Application, one of the highest levels of qualification in our profession and certification as a fully Registered Chemical Applicator.
Pride is taken in both our plant and the services we offer our clients including the capacity to offer professional advice on targeted pest plants and control programmes.
Since building our website, we have changed the appearance of our fleet which we think looks tidier and more professional.
At Urban Plus Weedsprayers, we are passionate about what we do and we’re committed to providing our customers with a high standard of service every time.
Our DO IT ONCE, DO IT RIGHT approach and positive client feedback is testament to this.
As well as maintaining ongoing management of Health and Safety issues and regularly updating our hazard list and control procedures, Urban Plus Weedsprayers monitors employees' fitness and health, minimising or eliminating risks and hazards and works with staff to provide a safer operational environment.
All our operations comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 and the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 and NZS 8409: 2004 Code of Practice for the Management of Agrichemicals.
It’s our objective to minimise or eliminate the impact of all our operations on the environment. To achieve this, we consider all environmental factors and issues at the onset of any project undertaken. We consult with local authorities, communities and neighbours, monitor all discharges into the environment at all times and regularly audit operational performance, always with consideration for the environment and other land users.
Rigorous training programmes and courses regularly take place to assist further development of technical and operational skills of our friendly and helpful staff.
